Neural Correlates of Attentional Flexibility during Approach and Avoidance Motivation

Description: In this study, participants were required to shift their focus of attention between global and local targets. Participants completed the task in 3 motivation conditions (approach, avoidance, neutral) as well as 3 contexts (mostly global targets, mostly local targets, even number of global and local targets). Thus, the study had a 2 (Switch vs. Non-Switch) by 2 (Target Type: global or local) by 3 (Motivation: approach, avoidance, neutral) by 3 (Context: mostly global, mostly local, even) design.
