Description: This collection contains group-level statistical maps from the manuscript of “Extended amygdala function is governed by threat probability, not uncertainty.” We used a computational framework to characterize neural responses to threat likelihood and uncertainty. We distinguished threat Probability from two mathematically distinct facets of uncertainty: outcome uncertainty (Risk) and probability uncertainty (Ambiguity). Risk quantifies the variance in potential outcomes (aversive or benign; i.e., Var[pThreat]). Ambiguity quantifies the extent to which threat probability is partially unknowable, such that an ambiguous threat encompasses a range of possible threat probabilities (range[pThreat]). The collection includes FDR-thresholded (q < 0.005) group-level t-maps for the analyses reported in the manuscript. Maps are provided as: 1) Positive and negative effects. 2) Positive effects only (voxels with t > 0). 3) Negative effects only (voxels with t < 0), with the sign flipped so that larger positive values indicate stronger negative effects in the original statistical map.
