Collection: Normative database of the serotonergic system in healthy subjects using multi-tracer PET

Description: Out of our PET data pool we generated a serotonin-2A receptor distribution map of the human brain. This parametric image represents the mean serotonin-2A receptor binding potential of 19 healthy subjects (8 females, 11 males). All scans were performed with the highly selective radioligand [18F]altanserin. Individual parametric images were quantified on the basis of the cerebellum as a reference region (CReference) and the plasma activity concentration attributable to parent compound (CPlasma) with radioactivity concentrations averaged from 120 to 180 min p.i. and then normalized to the MNI stereotactic space. This image shall demonstrate the regional 5-HT2A receptor binding in the living human brain and may even serve as a template for coregistration/normalization purposes.
