Collection: Striatal BOLD and midfrontal theta power express motivation for action
Description: Contrast bias-incongruent actions (Go actions to Avoid cues/ NoGo actions to Win cues) with bias-congruent actions (Go actions to Win cues/ NoGo actions to Avoid cues) (irrespective of whether actions are correct or incorrect). Contrasted at the time people see the cues and perform the respective action (deadline 1.3 seconds). Too late responses are registered as NoGos. Motivational Go/NoGo task (Swart et al., 2017; 2018; van Nuland et al., 2020). Note that this Go/NoGo task is equiprobable (percent Go/NoGo trials is 50:50) and thus does NOT elicit strong inhibition-related activation.
