Midfrontal alpha oscillations

Collection: Striatal BOLD and midfrontal theta power express motivation for action

Description: Parametric regressor: trial-by-trial midfrontal (mean of channels FCz, Cz) alpha oscillations (175 - 325 ms relative to cue onset, 8 - 13 Hz) measured using scalp EEG. This alpha response is significantly higher for correct bias-incongruent actions (Go actions to Avoid cues/ NoGo actions to Win cues) than correct bias-congruent actions (Go actions to Win cues/ NoGo actions to Avoid cues). Motivational Go/NoGo task (Swart et al., 2017; 2018; van Nuland et al., 2020). Note that this Go/NoGo task is equiprobable (percent Go/NoGo trials is 50:50) and thus does NOT elicit strong inhibition-related activation.
